Camille

Morning folks. Hope everyone is well today. The sun is shining bright here in Galway :)

Tomorrow, the 30th September, a very brave little girl called Camille Shave is undergoing major brain surgery in order to resect a tumour. She is only 3 years old and has been through the run of the mill over the last year or so. She is facing challenges that no 3 year old should have to face. The ongoing chemotherapy that she recieves to reduce the size of the tumour is a difficult process for a 3 year old to have to endure. Hayley, Martin & Lucia - Camille's parents and sister, have been so strong and determined throughout this journey and I have such admiration for them all. They are an inspiration to me and whenever it feels like the mundane day-to-day life of college is unbearable, I think of the Shave family and the nightmare they are going through. It makes me appreciate what I have and how fortunate I really am, even if it feels like I'm not.

The operation that Camille is undergoing tomorrow will have a huge impact on both Camille and her family. I urge everyone to say a prayer, light a candle and keep Hayley, Martin, Lucia and Camille in your thoughts. Tomorrow changes everything for them.

The Michael Bublé Experience :)

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. :) The Bublé was beyond amazing - the 2 days for my friend Roisin's 21st birthday celebrations were incredible - will never forget the fun we had. Here is a rundown of all the fun we had ;)
Friday morning, we got a train at 9.20am to Dublin. Roisin's parents gave us a HUGE bag of food (doughnuts, crisps, choc muffins, cookies, bars, cans of coke...) reiterating this was 9.20am! Here is the bag of goodies - isnt it cute?

When we got to Dublin, we got 2 separate taxis to our hotel - Bewleys Leopardstown. We chilled out for a while and then went to my friend's parents room where they had sandwiches prepared for us so we wouldn't be hungry. We then each got a present with our names on it and inside was a t-shirt with "Roisin's 21st Birthday" on it and our names on the back!

At about 4.30, we headed down to the lobby where we were waiting on a *bus* - that was when a cream stretch limo turned up!

We were all given glasses of champagne and we had music BLARING in the back. We were taken all around Dublin city before heading back to the AVIVA stadium. When we got there, it was still quiet as the gates werent open long. We headed to the merchandise stand where I got a programme - there were also signed programmes there and the ink was STILL WET! He had JUST signed them!!

We found out that our tickets were actually SECTION 4 not ROW 4 but we still had a really good view and I got some AMAZING photos if i may say so myself!

The support act came on round 7.30 - they were called Naturally 7 - an acupello group so they had no instruments or anything. At this stage, i was physically shaking - it was FREEZING!!!!! Me and a friend went up to the bar to get a cup of tea and one of the girls bought a Michael Buble hoodie which we passed around every 15mins or so just so we could keep warm! At around 8.15pm, I met up with three wonderful ladies: Melanie Schregardus, Jules Keeley & Sian Phillips - was lovely to catch up with them before the gig :)
The Buble came on shortly after 8.30 - Cry Me a River was the opening song! He was FANTASTIC! He was soooo funny too, did alot of talking with the crowd! About halfway through, he walked down thru the crowd to a podium right beside us and HE POINTED AT OUR POSTER!!! He also sang Home when he was down near us so it was awesome! He said sorry to the people who bought front row tickets but that the people down here paid just as much - very good point!!! At the very end of the gig, he sang a song with NO mikes, no earpieces, nothing. The whole crowd went silent - gave me goosebumps - we could hear him perfectly - was just WOW!
Here are some pictures of the Buble himself throughout the gig:

The next photo was when he came down near us :)

After the gig, Roisin's parents picked us up and brought us back to the hotel where we went to their room. They had bowls of treats ready for us, a tier of mini cupcakes, champagne, wine and lots of banners and balloons up - was sooo lovely!

It was near 2am when we got to sleep. The next day, we got all dolled up and headed to the extremely posh 4 Seasons Hotel. There were a bunch of girls outside and a garda so we think the Buble was actually staying there....could have met him! There was also a celeb wedding on there but we didnt find out who wsa getting married and we didn't recognise any of the guests. We were brought to our table at around 1pm and on the table at each setting was a little box with a cupcake insde that my friends mum had baked the previous day - so cute!!

The food in the Seasons Restaurant was beyond delicious.

For starters, I had Rustic Chicken Noodle Soup

For the main course, I had Crisp Pork Schnitzel, Sauteed Onion, Apples & Calvados, Italian Colesaw.

For dessert, Bruleed Lemon Tart, Coconut Crust, Raspberry Sorbet.

It was possibly the NICEST dinner i have ever had! A plate came around then with chocolates on it and happy birthday written on it for Roisin.

By the time we were ready, we had to head back to town to catch a 4.30 train. Was exhausted but it was the best weekend ever!! Seriously will take something mega to top that birthday ;)

Til next time folks, be good ;)

Michael Buble....;)

Hello folks, hope all is well with you today!

I have some exciting news! This Friday, 24th September, I, along with 6 friends are going to see the one and only Michael Buble!!!!

He is playing 2 nights at the brand spankin' new Aviva Stadium (previously known as Landsdowne Road) in Dublin. I cannot wait for a number of reasons:

1. He is undoubtedly one of the finest singers to grace the music industry. He is seriously talented and has released some amazing songs that would send shivers down your spine. Some of my favourites would have to be...

LOST

HOME

CRAZY LOVE

And ones that make you just want to get up and dance....

I JUST HAVEN'T MET YOU YET

2. We are lucky enough (thanks hugely to my friends parents) to have 4TH ROW SEATS!!! Yes, we will be 4 rows away from Michael Buble! Jealous much? ;) This is for my friends 21st birthday and I have to say it is such a great idea compared to a party!

3. The next day, we are dining like ladies of luxury in The 4 Seasons Hotel - the swankiest hotel in Dublin!! The hottest A-list celebrities stay here so it's going to be absolutely fantastic!

Bring it on....:)

Things to Always Remember

Hello everyone. Again it has been so long since I last posted so apologies, i'll try and post more often!

I was at a neighbours wedding last weekend and at the end of the ceremony, this was read and it moved me to tears...I thought it was very sweet and very true...

Your presence is a present to the world
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be.
Take the days just one at a time.

Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You'll make it through whatever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.

Don't put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realised.
Decisions are too important to be left to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously.
Live a life full of serenity, not a life of regrets.

Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that a lot...goes forever.
Remember that frienship is a wise investment.
Life's treasures are people...together.

Realise that its never too late.
Do ordinary things in extraordinary ways.
Have health and hope and happiness.
Take the time to wish upon a star.

And don't ever forget...
For even a day...
How very special you are.
